More than 25 cats were recently removed from a home in Lincoln.
The Cat House has been given the opportunity to rehabilitate these cats and find them homes. Many of them have earmites, ringworm and fleas. Some have upper respiratory infections, and most of them are in poor condition. Fortunately, none of these health issues are life-threatening, but they will require extra care.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!
This is definitely a "time of need" for us! Regular operations (adoptions, TNR, etc.) must continue, along with the added commitment to these new kitties.
Will you please help?

- Monetary donations are desperately needed!
We don't receive any money from the City or Capital Humane Society, when we help out in these situations. We do it to save lives. So every dollar makes a difference! Go to the Donation page for more information.
- Volunteer - we are always in need of more volunteers, but more now than ever!
While the new kitties are segregated, and many have ringworm, if you are uncomfortable working with them, all the other shelter cats still need care.
Even if you are an animal lover, but can't be around cats for long periods because of allergies - we STILL have things you can do! We need help with clean-up and feeding schedules for our TNR sites, we often have Cat Nip Stick stuffing parties to make the toys we sell to raise money. And if you're expertise is sewing, we may even be able to use your help with making our Cat and Dog beds. We will be selling them on the Internet soon, and will need more inventory!
As always, the most urgent need is for hands-on cat care and feeding. Gloves, shoe covers, smocks or aprons can all be made available if you have concerns about working with ringworm or other sick kitties! We know it's a busy time of year - so even if you can help ONLY FOR A FEW HOURS, please let us know! Let's get all these new kitties healthy and ready for Homes for the Holidays!
* We have a special need for people with experience giving medication to cats. If you, or someone you know, is a Vet, Vet Tech, Pre-Vet Student or other experienced animal volunteer - please consider helping out, even if your time would be limited. Medical care is going to be so important in rehabilitating these Scottish Folds.
Please go to our Volunteer page to apply!

Donate supplies
Probably the next most-needed items on our "URGENT" list are supplies. Not surprisingly, we go through LOTS of cat litter. We use the most inexpensive, clay cat litter (non-clumping), since we change it so often. We also use quite a bit of "specialized" food, that can only be obtained at Veterinary offices. We need Science Diet C/d, R/d, W/d, D/d in the dry food varieties. We can also ALWAYS use cans of Science Diet A/d. We also use Royal Canin/IVD Specialized canned food in Duck, Venison versions.
See our 'Wish List' below!

Help us online!
In addition to all of the ways to help above, you can help us every day, by using the following websites:
Use GoodSearch for all of your Internet searches. We will receive a penny per search!
Do all of your online shopping through iGive. A portion of each purchase will go directly to us!

Opearating a shelter requires a lot of money, work, and STUFF. From soft old shirts to bleach, from towels to chairs.
From the consumables - cat food, litter, bleach, paper towels, etc. - to bigger one-time items like a
printer or a washer/dryer.
So, we put together the following list. If you have any items on this list, or anything you think we could use, you
can to make arrangements to get them to us.
